Alternate way to inflate a pilates swiss ball?
Question by mori_duin11: Alternate way to inflate a pilates swiss ball?
Looking to buy a very cheap swiss pilates ball that does not come with original pump. I do not have a bike/basketball air pump either. Any ideas? Is it possible to inflate just by blowing into it?

I don’t think you will be able to inflate pilates ball without a pump.
I bought a simple pump a the 2-Dollar-Shop, that does the job as you normally only need to pump it up once.

Figure, one day or two to rest. Book twice a week or thrice, depending on your finances. You should be carefully observing and learning, so you can cut down to once a week. Then, do the other days on your own from your studies.

Q&A: How do I know which Pilates workout is right for me?
Question by Lubsy: How do I know which Pilates workout is right for me?
I’m looking for a Pilates workout video, but there are SO many options! How do I know what’s right for me? Here are my details:
- 5’7″ female, 180 lbs
- Want to tone and strengthen, but also lose weight
- Definite Pilates beginner, but I want advanced options too
- Don’t own any Pilates equipment; willing to purchase hand weights but not a mat at this time
I’m looking for a DVD with different expertise levels, as well as fat-burning options. I appreciate any suggestions!

i dont know which one is right for you but here is some additional advice: pilates doesnt really burn that much fat. try adding in a cardio routine and slowly reducing calories and fatty foods. you will need protein though since pilates is so muscle and strength intensive. you’ll start to see some better gains with an interdisciplinary routine like that. good luck ! =)

Does anyone know of a good pilates work out?
Question by S: Does anyone know of a good pilates work out?
I’m a ballet student and am needing to incorporate an ab workout into my routine. I’m looking for a short (about a half an hour) workout that’s effective, maybe at an intermediate or advanced level. I’ve already developed my abdominal muscles to some extent, but I’ve heard that pilates can really “shock them into shape” and that pilates is good for dancers. Any suggestions?

Answer by Sirena
Pilates won’t “shock them into shape” – that’s a common misconception. And it certainly won’t give you a six-pack,because it works on the deep core muscles.
The other point about Pilates exercises is that if you don’t do them exactly right, they do no good at all.
I’d recommend you book one private lesson with a Pilates instructor. As a dancer, you’ll pick up the correct form and you’ll then be able to practice on your own.
