I have been taking a weight training class(muscle building) but I wanted to also know the best way to lose some body fat other than diets. Any exercises would work. I also wanted to know if when building muscle over fat, you just get bigger? I have gained about 8lbs of muscle in a little while and I just look bigger, not more fit. Any help would be appreciated.

i did step aerobics for 30 minutes at a steady pace and did around 750 steps. the step is 7 inches high .
i am 86lbs and 5ft1 if that helps.

i really don’t believe so. u lose weight when your heart pumps fast. youga and pilates u do for muscle stretching.

Probably pilates, it works you harder but yoga will keep your flexibility better… maybe you should do both! But if you only want to do one, I would do pilates and then if you don’t want to loose some flexibilty, stretch at home a little bit.

Yoga can be done at home.I have a Pilates/Yoga DVD that I do at home.Whenever I feel too tired and kinda sick to be at the gym(I work there) I go home and I do pilates,it’s with yoga,so it relaxes me a bit.

Exercise, some sunshine and a good diet of whole, real foods including lots of fruits and vegetables will boost your energy. I’m 45 and a ballroom dancer, I dance the feet off guys half my age.

im going to start doing pilates but i dont know how long i should it for in a day and how many days a week. Im thinking 30-60 minits 5 times a week Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday. Should i do them in the morning or whenever i feel like it? Considering my plan how long do you think it would take to notice some changes?

Well preferably do the workouts at night because if you do Pilate’s during the day you will be incredibly sore especially after the first day. After your body gets used to the work-out things will get alot easier for you. The above plan looks all right but i would recommend spacing it out. There should be a day or two a week for you body to bounce back from the strenuous workouts that you’re doing. It also gives your body time to get back in tune before your next workout. Generally it takes about 2-2 1/2 weeks to begin noticing differences. The workout will become easier and you will notice you don’t have to work so hard to complete them. hope this helps.

I think that would help but you also need a great deal of natural flexibility and double-jointed-ness.
