Question by Becky F: What does the bible say about killing in self-defense?
I want to be a cop when I grow up and if someone shots at me what does God think about killing in self-defense. Because I know he says people shouldn’t murder but what does the bible say about killing in self-defense?

Did Jesus Christ kill in self defense?

Edit – Christ taught to turn the other cheek and he also said “blessed are the peace makers, for they shall be called the Sons of God”. Now, go ahead and thumb me down for what the bible said, and specifically what Christ said. He didn’t put up a fight when they were crucifying him, now did he? I do believe there are some truly ignorant people here.

Why did CNN read “teens acquitted in immigrant murder” not “teens acquitted for killing illegal in self defense”?

The illegal immigrant attacked the group of guys and isn’t suppose to be here to start with, it was self-defense. WTH is wrong with CNN?
Wait so if someone calls me and name and I attack them and they kill me… that’s their fault… not mine?

Why is it supposedly legal to kill someone out of self-defense, yet when someone does it they still face sentencing, court hearings, and almost always jail time? And I know there are varying definitions of “self-defense,” but I mean like even if someone goes to court and it is proven legally that they killed someone out of self defense then they are still in trouble. So why? Also, why do people get in trouble for killing other innocent people, yet hunters/butchers kill innocent animals all the time and nothing is ever said? Some people may argue that hunting keeps the population of animals in check, but this is an invalid argument since animals die naturally at an even faster rate than humans and there are a lot less of any given animal than there are humans in the world.

1. The pre-meditated killing of a human being is murder, not self-defense.

2. Hunters/butchers generally don’t kill human beings, but if they do, refer back to point #1.

How does that make you feel?

Why dont you hug a murderer now and tell them you applaud their actions when they KILLED your family? So they get the death penalty…they still killed someone.
You Americans advocate murder. Good on you.
How do you know that some prior law abiding citizen might not kill someone?
