Can be dropped from 6 feet can go underwater up to 33 feet and can withstand hot and freezing temps

Question by : Should i get a PENTEX WG – 1 digital camera for extreme sports like skiing, mountain biking and hiking?
I’ve got a Nikon Coolpix S300 digital camera which is great to have slipped in a pocket or bag in town but not so good to have skiing, mountain biking and hiking. I have had a look at the camera and quiet like its features and specs. With christmas coming up i want to know weather it is worth putting on my christmas list and need to know sharpish.

I don’t have any first hand experience with this camera. That said I have owned Pentax products for a long time, and recently (11/2010) purchased a Pentax Kx a DSLR which performs as well as the most popular (on this site) Canons and Nikons.

Although I am a professional photographer, each camera has it’s strengths and weaknesses. So I place about 15% on camera reviews and the rest on either first hand knowledge (somebody I know) or customer reviews on both amazon and B&H photo.

Question by porny: Do people normally wear underwear when doing water sports?
I’m just wondering if it is normal for people to wear underwear when swimming, or in a wetsuit etc.

Some people do wear. because they would not feel good withiut it anywhere. but some don’t like it coz the underware cause distractions and so we can’t enjoy swimming.

By outdoor do you mean just outside or do you mean the great outdoors type things…? Anyway here is a list of both.

What the f*ck? This is absolute torture for us! God sake! TNA, get it through your thick skulls – your UK fans are livid at you at times! I know it’s not on Friday (as it usually is) but this is insane, we have to wait another week just to see it? Ever since the start of the year, the TNA UK community have been angry with the way TNA are treating us with PPV rights and this new deal has started off terribly, we only got 2 1/2 hours of Destination X first time round and now not showing Sacrifice for a further week, TNA, get it straight!

I was wondering why there are not schools/colleges with extreme sports teams. They are relatively cheap, considering you don’t have to: 1.build stadiums/arenas for them, 2. a ton of expensive equipment, and 3. tons of offseason/summer programs to muscle up for the competition. Why would a TINY SMALL SCHOOL IN DIVISION 2 NOT DROP FOOTBALL/BASKETBALL/BASEBALL AND PICK UP SKATEBOARDING/BMX BIKES/ETC

Because they are “extreme” the insurance costs would be far too much for a school to want to pick up such a sport.
And since the history of extreme sports is so short, they haven’t had much of a huge national buzz to make it a sanctioned academic sport.

Question by Pwnie: What one thing should I purchase at REI to start my foray into outdoor sports?
I am a native Oregonian going to school in Arizona. I have always been into the outdoors (camping, hiking, skiing, etc), but, of course, before I was 18 this was all financed by my parents. Now that I’m living on my own and have recently gotten back into these things, I am trying to slowly gather the necessary equipment without breaking the bank. For Christmas, my father (who supports these endeavors), gave me an REI gift certificate for $ 100. (For those of you not familiar with REI, it’s just a large outdoor sporting-goods store.)

I am curious what you think is the most important thing to purchase in order to begin enjoying activities such as hiking, canyoneering and rock climbing. Of course, for the moment I do all of these things as hobbies, and items that multi-task would be great. My dad thinks the first investment would be good shoes. At present, I am using two pairs of shoes (crosstrainers and a running shoes) for these activities, as well as cycling in my Converse as needed (I know – wince all you want).

Just wanted others’ opinions before I made a purchase! Shoes? Jacket, backpack?
